Facebook Changes the Check-In Feature

Facebook is now changing the way people can ‘check-in’ at your hotel. The popular check-in feature was previously only available through smartphones, but now people will be able to share their location with their friends from any device that’s connected to the Internet.

Facebook Check-Ins Will Improve Your Hotel Marketing

Why Facebook decided to make this change is less important than what it means for your hotel. There now are over 750 million users on Facebook, with more than one-third of them aged 35 and over. This same demographic (which is most likely the same demographic that’s staying at your hotel) is also the fastest growing group on Facebook. Baby-boomers especially are signing up at top speed to connect with old friends and see new photos of the grandkids.

This change by Facebook makes it even easier for these same people to connect your Facebook page to theirs. After they’ve settled in at your hotel, they’ll go online from their laptops or from the desktop computer you have in the living room and they’ll update their status to look something like this:

My Facebook friends will receive my update- complete with a link and the photo I took

Or, if they don’t do this while they’re staying with you, they’ll still be able to link to your Facebook page once they get home.

Essentially what this all means is that Facebook is making it easier for your guests to connect your hotel with all of their family and friends (and their friend’s friends, and those people’s friends, and the friends of those guys…). This is targeted, free marketing to a specific audience who’s already interested in your story and your hotel.

buuteeq’s Free Facebook App Supports Facebook Check-Ins

And that’s where buuteeq comes in. Inserting your name into these networks of friends is going to drive more traffic to your Facebook site. These are people who will have heard firsthand testimonial about your place and who have it in the back of their minds that they, too, just might like a nice vacation like the one their friend had.

Our map feature is like an online conceirage service.

With our FREE Facebook application these people will be able to see an elegant lay-out of your rooms, a personalized and in-depth map of nearby attractions that you’ve chosen, and they’ll be able to make direct, commission free reservations (that link into the booking engine you already have) right there at the same time.

Highlight your rooms- Allow for direct reservations

All this adds up to a great deal for you. Facebook is bringing you more visitors, and buuteeq’s free application is turning those visitors into paying guests. All you have to do is sign up here. No credit card, no down payment and no catch. It’s just a way for us to show what this Seattle startup can do. We guarantee it will bring you more reservations.
