Napa Valley, located in northern California, is one of the loveliest places you’ll ever visit, with its rocky mountain peaks behind rolling hills which are mostly covered with grapevines, lovely in any season. Napa Valley is home to hundreds of wineries – some stunning, some simple, many simply over the top – that produce wines proven to stand proudly alongside the top wines of the world. I had the opportunity to take my family to visit Napa Valley this year with buuteeq employee benefit called Trotamundo program and we enjoyed our short weekend getaway much.

- Napa River Inn at Napa downtown
During the trip, i visited one of buuteeq customers in this area: Napa River Inn. Napa River Inn is a luxury boutique hotel in historic downtown Napa, part of an building in the Historic Napa Mill, a National Registered Landmark built in 1884. This waterfront landmark artfully blends historic ambiance with Napa’s fun and vibrant downtown atmosphere. Besides being an official Historical Hotel of America, its close proximity to many great shopping and restaurants choices are big attraction to guests.
I spent some time chatting with Mathew, the front desk manager about hotel digital marketing in general and how buuteeq’s solutions are helping hotels. - Jeep ride at West Safari zoo
One highlight of this family trip is a visit to Safari West, a wildlife reserve in Sonoma, about 20 minutes drive from Napa downtown. Over 400 animals roam free at Safari West and visitors can observe them up close in open-air jeeps, this is really a huge thrill for kids and adults alike. The giraffes are incredible, much larger in real life than I would imagine as seen on TV. On several occasions, the close encounters are so intense that my two boys are literally screaming.
Sterling Vineyard
No Napa Valley visit is complete without a trip to wineries. We decided to check out Sterling Vineyards at Calistoga. To reach the wine tastings area up the hill, all visitors need to take an aerial tram (gondola), I bet it is something you don’t see every day at any other wineries in the world!

Hotel occupancy rate throughout the year at Napa is usually high, especially in summer time, many hotels are sold out. If you plan to visit, be sure to plan ahead!
