Brandon: You started on the customer success team and got moved to the product team a few months ago. When did you first think that you’d be a good fit for the product team?
Lisa: I’m not sure if I ever thought I would be a good fit for the product team, that is…until I was presented with the opportunity. I guess you could say that it never really crossed my mind because I was too busy helping clients achieve success with their buuteeq digital marketing system in the Customer Success team. Although after I was presented with the opportunity, I realized how much fun it would be and how it would be a good opportunity to make an impact on a product and company that I grew to be so passionate about.
Brandon: Is buuteeq the first hospitality or technology company you’ve worked for?
Lisa: Yes, and yes! Which is interesting because I’ve always been interested in travel/hospitality and technology, but I just never realized I could combine the two as smoothly as I am doing here at buuteeq.
Brandon: What are some of your previous work experience and the pros/cons of them?
Lisa: As a recent graduate, I haven’t had many full-time jobs, but previously I was an intern at a major law firm, financial services company, and a teacher for a very brief moment. Of all my experiences, these would be some major pros/cons:
Pros:
- Great benefits/perks like free pop, team field trips, extravagant holiday parties
- Located in a high rise in downtown Seattle with a beautiful view
- Great people
Cons:
- Strict schedules
- Bad team dynamics
- The work wasn’t inspiring
Brandon: Since you’ve been with buuteeq, what accomplishment are you most proud of?
Lisa: My proudest accomplishment has been the opportunity to join the product team as an associate product manager after helping to grow the customer base over the last year in the customer success team. I am most proud of this accomplishment because I am able to now learn from a different part of the organization and work on making meaningful contributions to a product that I find so cool!
Brandon: What’s your personal philosophy about work?
Lisa: I believe that at this point in my life that work is a learning experience. I work to learn as much as I can…and thankfully at buuteeq, even though I am “working”, I enjoy it! I work hard because I know that it will give me experiences to last throughout my career.
Brandon: What do you find most satisfying about releasing a new product innovation?
Lisa: The thing that I find most satisfyingly about new product innovation is the ability to wow people. Innovation occurs when you are introducing something new, which means that people never really knew they needed this product until it was released. By being able to release a product that they never knew existed, I’m able to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives and wow them! 
Brandon: What are your top five travel destinations?
Lisa: Whoa…such a hard question because my goal is to safely step foot in every country, so I can’t really decide about top five, but I can tell you my top five destinations over the next couple years to visit:
- Brazil
- South Africa
- Chile!! (because of our LATAM office in Santiago)
- India
- Czech Republic
